Colorado Living – Work where you play!

From mountain biking in the summer to skiing in the winter, living in Western Colorado has its advantages!  One of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, colorful Colorado, can become your home when you join Mind Springs Health or West Springs Hospital.

Our corporate headquarters, along with our inpatient hospital and residential treatment facilities are located in Grand Junction, Colorado.  With a population of nearly 70,000, Grand Junction offers many of the rewards of a big city with a small-town feel, all nestled within dramatic red rock landscape of the Colorado National Monument.  Shopping, dining, golf, fishing, rafting, and beautiful orchards and wineries are just a few of the activities that are waiting for you.

Mind Springs Health’s 13 outpatient offices are located throughout the Western Slope, including offices in the desirable ski towns of Aspen and Steamboat Springs.  The staff at the Glenwood Springs office enjoys playing in the World’s largest hot springs pool, while our Granby staff attends the local rodeo in the summer while heading to nearby Winter Park for skiing in the winter. Employees of our largest outpatient office in Grand Junction love the paved cycling trails throughout their community, as well as world-renowned mountain biking, not only in Grand Junction but in the neighboring communities of Fruita and Moab.  In rural communities, such as Craig and Rangely, hunters are in a true paradise come fall! Internships and Practicums

Mind Springs Health’s internships and practicums are open to Master’s level students and above in professional training programs that include psychology, professional counseling, social work, substance use counseling, and marriage & family therapy. They are designed to help students develop generalized professional practice skills appropriate to their levels under supervision.

Students have opportunity to work with clients from diverse backgrounds with various mental health and substance abuse challenges. Interns and practicum students function as integral members of Mind Springs’ teams and work collaboratively with providers from different disciplines. The program helps students develop proficiency in clinical evaluation and assessment, providing psychotherapy (individual, family, group and couples) across life span, and providing case management.

Practicum students will learn professional and ethical issues related to their field, develop cultural sensitivity, and strengthen their skills in documentation. Application must be completed at least 4 months prior to the beginning of training. (For example, if internship starts in mid-January, application needs to be completed by mid-September.)
