Internships and Practicums
Mind Springs’ internships and practicums are open to students in professional training programs that include psychology, professional counseling, social work, addiction counseling, and marriage & family therapy. They are designed to help students develop generalized professional practice skills appropriate to their levels under supervision. Students will have opportunities to work with clients from diverse backgrounds with various mental health and substance abuse challenges. Interns and practicum students function as integral members of Mind Springs’ teams and work collaboratively with providers from different disciplines. The program helps students develop proficiency in clinical evaluation and assessment, providing psychotherapy (individual, family, group and couples) across life span, and providing case management. Practicum students will learn professional and ethical issues related to their field, develop cultural sensitivity, and strengthen their skills in documentation. Application must be completed at least 4 months prior to the beginning of training. (For example, if internship starts in mid-January, application needs to be completed by mid-September.)
